A dredge is a device for scraping or sucking the seabed, used for dredging. A dredger is a ship or boat equipped with a dredge.

The process of dredging creates spoils (excess material), which are carried away from the dredged area. Dredging can produce materials for land reclamation or other purposes (usually construction-related).

Positive Displacement Pump for Decanter Centrifuge

When to use a centrifugal or a Positive Displacement pump (“PD Pump”) is not always a clear choice. Usually we use a positive displacement pump to feed for decanter centrifuge, it is called single screw pump.

The major benefit to use a positive displacement pump other than centrifugal pumpis that, it will not break the fine solids to smaller, so the centrifuge can separate the solids easily. Centrifugal force of centrifugal pump will cut the solids to smaller, it is not good for centrifuge’s operation.

How to operate a screw pump when feeding to decanter centrifuge?

1 Full fill the pump chamber with drilling fluids , if the media is too viscosity, then inject into other liquids; Inject the mud from the pump inlet connection, and rotate the pump by hand along the running direction of the motor to make the mud full fill the suction chamber.

2 Open the screw pump inlet valve and outlet valve (the valve is fully opened to prevent overload or no load suction), start the motor.

3 The pump should be started under the condition of fully opening the Inhale row valve and bypass valve to minimize the start load. Gradually close the bypass valve after the motor reaching the rated revolution.

GNLW452S is developed based on our traditional model LW450x1000, after improvement on the design and performance, now its bowl length reach 1100mm(100mm larger than previous one) ,actual treating capacity can reach 40m3/h, and max bowl speed can reach 2200rpm, with all other features of middle speed decanter centrifuge.

GNLW363G is developed from GLW355x1250 model, after improvement, the bowl diameter is 5mm larger and bowl length is 20mm larger than before. Now the actual treating capacity can reach 30m3/h, and the bowl speed can be choose by using various size pulleys. The max bowl speed it can make is 3900rpm. Different with other suppliers, GN showed the actual treating capacity( process rate) on the paper, not the nominal processing rate 40m3/h.

GNLW364VFD is similar and large than SWACO 518. The bowl size of 518 is 356 x 1422mm, the bowl size of GNLW364G is 356x1510mm, the bowl length is more than 518 centrifuge. And the centrifuge is precision-balanced for smooth operation over long periods at speed of 1800 to 3900rpm, generating centrifugal forces up to 3000G.

This would indicate the relative density of the soil.

The mud produced by Geotechnical drilling is very less, it depends on the length and the core diameter. Usually its treating capacity is only 5m3/h or less, but it can not be discharge away directly to the environment because of strict environment protection regulation. Offshore drilling waste management

When water-based muds (WBMs) were used, only limited environmental harm was likely to occur, but when operators employed oil-based muds (OBMs) on deeper sections of wells, the resulting cuttings piles created impaired zones beneath and adjacent to the platforms. So it is necessary to process drilling waste by GN drilling waste management system.

Many offshore rigs do not process the drilling waste or even drilling mud at site, because there are professional facilities who can recycle the drilling mud and process the drilling waste. Then the rig can re-use the recycled drilling mud. Unlike onshore drilling rigs, there are complete solids control systems in onshore drilling site.

The drilling waste produced by onshore drilling are mainly drilling cuttings and less water, which can be transferred by screw conveyor to hi-G shaker or vertical cutting dryer for further process.

The drilling waste produced by offshore drilling usually is not produced by solids control equipments, they are collected by containers then transport to the drilling waste management facilities for process. Firstly they are pumped to shale shaker( drying shaker), then desander, desilter cone, the clean fluids can be processed by decanter centrifuge directly. The cuttings are transferred to vertical cutting dryer, then to decanter centrifuge, the clean fluids are collected and re-used in offshore drilling rig.

What is the features of GNZS853 compared with GNZS63-4?

1 Even it is 3 –panel hi-G dryer, its screen area is larger than 4-panel hi-G dryer. The larger the screen area is, the dryer the cutting is. Total deck screen length is 2550mm, the total deck screen length of GNZS63-4 is 2520mm. Total screen area of GNZS85-3 is 3.2m2, but the total screen area of GNZS63-4 is only 3.15m2. And GNZS85-3’s screen area and total deck length is larger than Derrick 4-panle shale shaker/mud cleaner.

So 4-panel shaker is not must be better than 3-panel shaker.

2 3-panel shaker screen can enlarge the effective screen area, the waste screen area is less compared with 4 screen panel. It can improve the performance of hi-G dryer.

Mud motor also called Drilling Motor refers to a Progressive Cavity Positive Displacement Pump placed in the Drill string to provide additional power to the bit while drilling. The PCPD Pump uses Drilling Fluid to create eccentric motion in the power section of the motor which is transferred as concentric power to the drill bit. The Mud Motor uses different rotor and stator configurations to provide optimum performance for the desired drilling operation, typically increasing the number of lobes and length of power assembly for greater horsepower. In certain applications, compressed air, or other gas, can be used for Mud Motor input power. Normal rotation of the bit while using a Mud Motor can be from 60 rpm, to over 100 rpm.

GN mud recycler and mixing unit can match with Ditch Witch HDD rig and Vermeer rig according to their required mud flow capacity. The recycled drilling fluids by GN mud recycler and mixing unit are provided to mud motor for charging.

Mud motors are powered by drilling fluid ,the fluid consists of water mixed with bentonite or polymer additives designed to match various soil conditions. The fluid is pumped down through the drill string to the downhole motor, which converts the flow to rotary speed and torque.

GN mini shale shaker GNZS752 is a good solution for such small treating capacity drilling, its nominal treating capacity is 35m3/h at API60 mesh screen. If you need 10~15m3/h process rate, you can use API100 mesh screen. They can perfectly meet your requirement. You do not need a hydrocyclone because the treating capacity is too small, fine mesh screen can finish the job of hydrocyclone.

Directional drilling (DD) is seen as a marriage of conventional road boring and the directional drilling of oil wells.

It is also known as directional boring, horizontal drilling, slant drilling, or deviated drilling, is a method of trenchless technology that involves drilling a non-vertical well or borehole. It can be broken down into three main groups: Oilfield Directional Drilling, Utility Installation Directional Drilling (or H.D.D. or Horizontal Directional Drilling) Directional boring, and in-seam directional drilling to extract coal bed methane.

Many directional boring machines also use a drilling fluid or slurry called mud. Other machines use foam or air, or both. The drilling fluid or mud is composed of bentonite clay and water with additives for enhancing performance. The higher-pressure jet of fluid is used in soft ground to cut through the soil. The cuttings then get suspended in the fluid. As more fluid is pumped down into the hole, the cuttings are brought back up to surface where they settle in a pit or are removed mechanically.
GN solids control equipments are used to handle the drilling mud with cuttings, to separate the big cutting out of the drilling fluids, so that the mud can be used for drilling again.
