As sales for Africa region, we follow the Africa clients who have potential requirement for solids control equipment, mud system, shaker screen, or other related spare parts. One Africa Drilling Company send inquiry to us from early of 2016. From then, we continuously follow the client, to offer quotation, mud system drawing, answers for many questions. After about one year communication, we finally got the purchase order. It is one 500gpm trailer mounted mud system with shaker; mud cleaner and other necessary solids control parts.

Details of the system configuration as below:

1) GNZS703 shale shaker, with composite material shaker screen to ensure the longer working time and better separation performance.  The shaker is equipped with Italy OLI brand motor, much reliable than other brand. The shaker screen is locked by wedge, which is easy to install and dismounting, save time when replace the shaker screen.

2) GNZJ703 Mud Cleaner. The mud cleaner is combination of three unit, including down deck shale shaker, desander and desilter assembly. The down deck shaker is same as GNZS703 shale shaker, but with higher API size screen (API 120, API 140 etc.).  The desander and desilter are made of PU material, much anti-corrosive material. The raw material and design are almost same, just the size is different. The desander is 10inch and desilter is 4inch.

3) Other necessary solids control equipment including mud agitator, mud gun, centrifugal pump etc. The mud agitator is used to suspend the heavy solids in mud to avoid settlement, and the mud gun can be used to flush the tank when finish work. The centrifugal pump is used to suck mud and feed to desander cones and desilter cones.  The two sets centrifugal pump will consume most power in the system.

4) All above mud equipment will be installing on trailer mounted mud tank. The mud tank is building and welding on the lower trailer chassis, easy for short distance movement.

Desander and desilter are the second phase separation and third phase separation in oil drilling solids control system. There are different type desander and desilter for option, we may firstly to know the difference and advantages of each type, then we can know how to make choice for project.

High speed gravity separation technology help GN Solids to produce high quality decanter centrifuge, to serve domestic and overseas clients, by offering solids control and drilling waste management solutions, to develop GN into China high end technology company.

GN has various model centrifuges for option with different bowl size and different capacity, with different speed to separate different size particles.
1) GN 9inch baby centrifuge with only 9inch bowl size, and treating capacity will be 3-5m3/h. Normally, mining project / diamond drilling will require the small centrifuge to give better performance of mud treatment. What’s more, the cost of small centrifuge is very cheap.
2) GN 14inch bowl centrifuge with 14inch bowl size, and ration of length to diameter is over 3, to guarantee on the separation performance. The treating capacity for drilling mud can reach to 15m3/h to 25m3/h per the mud weight, viscosity etc. This model decanter centrifuge is equivalent to Swaco 518 centrifuge, Swaco 414 centrifuge, Derrick DE1000 centrifuge etc.
Many drilling contractor stop centrifuge renting service of Swaco branch or centrifuge renting service of Derrick company, they come to GN to buy their own centrifuges, and GN can offer training on centrifuge operation and maintenance. In long term, the drilling contractor can save lots of cost on mud treatment.

3) GN 18inch bowl centrifuge with 18inch bowl size and there are two options:
GNLW452 with 1800RPM bowl speed, which is specialized for barite recovery; the price is much better.
GNLW453-VFD with 0-2500RPM bowl speed, which is specialized for fast mud weight cutting, the centrifuge is controlled by VFD control panel & AC for cooling. The price is relatively higher.

4) GN 22inch bowl centrifuge and GN 30inch bowl centrifuge.
The big bowl big volume centrifuge is generally used for construction, TBM machine, Subway construction etc. In the mentioned project, large volume of mud will be engaged, and big capacity centrifuge is necessary to guarantee on the project period.

OTC oil show is coming in May, 2017. GN Solids will attend the show as usual. With base in Houston, GN Solids can prepare the show equipment in GN Solids America warehouse, and transport to the show hall very convenient.

The latest model shale shaker, the shaker is replacement shaker to Swaco Mongoose, with 4 panel composite material shaker screen; popular used for oil drilling mud system.

Hydraulic decanter centrifuge, the decanter centrifuge is 14inch bowl centrifuge, equivalent to Swaco 518 hydraulic centrifuge or Derrick DE1000 hydraulic centrifuge. Similar bowl size, similar treating capacity, and similar driven type

Vertical cuttings dryer, the cuttings dryer is the 5^th generation dryer which have been improved based on former model, much more reliable performance and composition parts with better lifetime.

Shaker screen: the popular shaker screen model will be taken to the show, eg. Replacement screen for Derrick shakers, replacement screen for Mongoose shakers, etc.

GN mud system have been exporting to over 60 countries and areas. The mud system can be used for oil & gas drilling, HDD, water well drilling, geothermal drilling, etc.

Recently, I am busy with two projects for Africa. They are both water well drilling companies. But as the drilling rig size is different, and they have different requirement and budget for the mud system. We offer different configurations.

500gpm mud system for first client. The water well drilling depth will not deep, and the client need simple mud system, and we offer mud system with below equipment list:

• 1) 1ea shale shaker, equipped with 3panel shaker screen, treating capacity 120m3/h for light mud or water treatment.
• 2) 2ea mud agitator, to mixing the mud and suspending the heavy mud to avoid settlement.
• 3) 1ea mixing hopper, to mixing bentonite or barite
• 4) 1ea centrifugal pump, to give mixing power for the mixing hopper. Can also work to transfer the mud out when the mixing hopper stop work.
• 5) 1ea mud tank with 9m in length, 2.2m in width and 2.2m in height. This design mud tank can be put into container for shipment, easier transportation and much better sea freight cost.

All above item is installed on the mud tank, and the mud system can working well for drilling rigs & mud pumps.

500gpm mud system for another client. The water well drilling depth is deeper to 1000m. The client rig is from Drillmec, and he need 3 stage treatment mud system. And we offer mud system with equipment list below:

• 1) 1ea shale shaker, equipped with 3panel shaker screen, treating capacity 120m3/h for light mud or water treatment.
• 2) 1ea mud cleaner, equipped with 3 panel shaker & 1ea 10inch desander cones & 8ea 4inch desilter cones. The mud cleaner require 2sets 45kw centrifugal pump for feeding the cones.
• 3) Mixing hopper, mixing pump, trailer mounted tanks is equipped for the system.

About solids control equipment tender
When there is a tender, at least three solids control brand will compete to win the tender. What is the GN advantages when competing with US brand or other China brand ?
1) The first advantage of GN is on solids control equipment tender. Our sales people have strong reading ability to thick documents with quite a few pages, picking out the important parts, discuss about it and offer correspondence.
But GN generally doesn’t bid for overseas tender directly. We can support local company and the client can bid for tender in name of local company, but with technical support / commercial support from GN Solids Control.
2) GN can offer the most higher cost-effective solids control equipment from China. GN marketing position is only focus on high end client, with international standard products. Shaker and mud cleaner is the most common item in solids control system. With high reliable shaker and mud cleaner, the mud system can work in higher efficiency, less maintenance, longer lifetime. GN shale shaker and mud cleaner, have been working for oil and gas drilling almost 10 years. GN Solids Shale Shaker

GN Solids shaker have different models for option, including

2 panel shale shaker for mining/diamond drilling/ other small well drilling

3 panel shale shaker for CBM drilling/HDD drilling/Workover rig / Oil drilling etc.

4 panel shale shaker for oil and gas drilling, usually for deep well drilling rigs. This model GNZS594E-HB screen size is same as Swaco Mongoose screen. We can offer both composite material shaker screen and carbon steel frame shaker screen. After some years jobsite experience, composite material shaker screen can work better performance, and longer lifetime. Price of composite material screen is little higher than steel frame screen, but more cost-effective.

GN Solids Mud Cleaner

Mud cleaner is assembly of shakers, frameworks with desander cones and desilter cones, smaller footprint, and same function. Some client may not need the deck shaker, and we can offer the frameworks with desander cones and desilter cones. This is totally can be customized according to client’s need.

GN Solids mud cleaner model is decided by the model of shale shakers. We also have three models:

• Option 1: no shaker mud cleaner. Desander, desilter or assembly of desander and desilter
• Option 2: Mud cleaner with 3 panel shaker
• Option 3: Mud cleaner with 4 panel shaker

Sometimes, the selection of shaker is depending on the tender requirements. If the client buy and use it for themselves, they can choose better and lower cost models.

Good news ! We are awarded another purchase order from Middle East HDD client. The client is local biggest horizontal directional drilling private company, and just wins contracts from government gas dept. They need more HDD rigs, HDD mud equipment to continue the project.

We have offered several times quotation in last year, including:

1) Double deck shale shaker with coarse steel screen.

The client need double deck shaker, up deck 2mm shaker screen to remove all stones, down deck 0.5mm shaker screen to remove fine solids. The client don’t like carbon steel screen, and require PU material screen for longer lifetime.

We have rich experience in double deck linear motion shale shaker manufacturing, as well as PU material shaker screen. We have confidence the client give issue repeated order if they need more.

2)  Assembly unit with desander cones and desilter cones

The client don’t need the mud cleaner, three in one unit which include desander cones, desilter cones and down deck shaker. Instead, he require assembly unit with desander and desilter cones.  This is good to save footprint in mud tanks, and also lower down the unit price, spare parts cost.

We customize the assembly unit as per the request from client.

3) 3ea centrifugal pump

2ea centrifugal pump feed to the assembly unit of desander cones and desilter cones. 1ea centrifugal pump as backup. Or will be used in other application.

4) Economic standard mud system

As the client have different project, and they also need one compact mud system, economic standard, GNMS-500D. This unit is generally used for piling project, 2 stage separation with screen / desander cones, to remove the big solids.

We also have other capacity for option, including 200gpm GNMS-200D, 500gpm GNMS-500D, 1000gpm GNMS-1000D.If the client project require better fine solids removal, may require higher standard mud system with 4 phase separation. We can offer the turnkey solution per client’s request.

As the drilling operation going on, more and more solids will come into the mud, lead to the arising of mud weight. The change of mud weight is not good for drilling operation. Decanter centrifuge is required to remove the solids, and control the mud weight.

GN Solids Control is China leading brand for oil drilling mud decanter centrifuge. We have different model centrifuge for option, including:

9 inch bowl baby centrifuge, this is popular for mining/ waste water treatment.

14inch bowl high speed centrifuge, this model centrifuge is equivalent to SWACO 518 centrifuge / Derrick DE1000 centrifuge. Fixed speed centrifuge and variable speed is available per the client’s request

30inch bowl centrifuge is designed for industry application.

For oil drilling application mud weight control, we recommend fixed speed GNLW363CG 14inch bowl centrifuge for better option.

• Firstly, fixed speed centrifuge is much easier for operation than variable speed centrifuge.
• Secondly, we can offer 2700RPM bowl speed centrifuge, 3200RPM pulley with belt as backup.
• Lastly, the fixed speed centrifuge is much better price than variable speed centrifuge.

Centrifuge feed pump, we recommend screw pump, positive displacement pump. The pump motor is controlled by the centrifuge control panel.

Telescopic skid is for option. The client can compare the price from GN, and local fabrication price.

Except for centrifuge, vertical cuttings dryer is another popular item for oil drilling waste management. The client needs it to recover the valuable oil based mud and return it back for drilling operation. We have two options: GNCD930 series cuttings dryer and GNCD730 series cuttings dryer. The client can choose the proper model per request.

GN Solids Control main business is in oil drilling & HDD field, for drilling mud system and waste management. For smaller percentage business, GN get it from piling, mining and road construction which require compact and small mud system to clean and recycle the mud. GN offer desanding plant to achieve the target for client.

Recently, we just ship 3 sets desanding plant to one piling client to Southeast Asia. The client issue the PO in the beginning of November and come to GN factory for the inspection. The purchased desanding plant model is GNMS-1000D, with 2ea 10inch desanding cyclones to reach up to 1000gpm treating capacity.

Actually, we attended Bauma exhibition last month, bring the desanding plant there for show. Many clients with piling projects, mining slurry water project, road construction etc. came to GN Solids booth for consulting.

One client from Mexico, they have Derrick desanding plant for the mining slurry process for now. The performance is very good, price is also very higher. The client is trying to find equivalent equipment with lower cost. After we have short meeting to discuss on the working flow, the client is very satisfied with GN desanding plant and also price. He promised to buy one set very soon for test.

Another client from Australia is doing HDD project, he want to find HDD rig and mud system from the show. After he knows GN, we recommend good brand HDD rig company and GN mud system. With quite a lot HDD project list brochure for China and Australia market, the client is convinced that GN can supply good product and high quality service to him. Very soon, the client bought one sets 500gpm mud system for project.

One client from Marocco are needing separation machines to treat the slurry from mining operation. And we quote to them in the show directly. Technical evaluation is under process, and we are waiting for positive feedback from client.
