Drilling fluids management system is a integration of different drilling fluids purification equipments like shale shakers, hydrocyclones, centrifuges etc.
GN Solids Control is 1 of about 10 China manufacturers who can design and manufacture all the equipments for a complete drilling fluids management system
All the drilling fluids management equipments are mounted over the drilling mud tank.
There are many ways to configure your mud tanks below your drilling fluids management equipment. The most common practice requires three sections. Under your shale shaker you have the first section known as the sand trap where the mud to be pumped from this section goes through your Desander. This cleaned mud is then dumped into the second section known as a silt tank. The mud is picked up then pumped through your Desilters. The Desilters dumps the cleaned mud into the third section, know as the clean mud or mixing tank. This will be picked up by the pump to be pumped back into your bore hole.
To provivide Combination Desanders/Desilters are common when the volume being pumped is under 500 GPM. The tank separation in this drilling fluids managemet application can be achieved with two sections in the mud tank. A clean section where mud to be mixed and pumped down hole is located. The second section is under the shale shaker where the contaminated mud is picked up and processed by the Desander/Desilter combination.
The drilling fluids management Equipments
The first line of defense for a properly designed drilling fluids management system has been and will continue to be, the shale shaker. Without proper screening of the drilling fluid during this initial removal step, reduced efficiency and effectiveness of all downstream drilling fluids management in the system is assured. The downstream hydrocyclones will simply be overloaded beyond their designed capacity.
Hydrocyclones are simple mechanical devices, with out moving parts, designed to speed up the settling process. Feed pressure is transformed into centrifugal force inside the cyclone or cone to accelerate particle settling in accordance with Stoke’s Law #1. In essence, a cyclone is a miniature settling pit which alloys very rapid settling of solids under controlled conditions.Hydrocyclones have become important in drilling fluids management system because of their ability to efficiently remove particles smaller than the finest mesh screens.
Decanter centrifuge are used to process unweighted and weighted, water-based and oil-based drilling fluids (muds). Mechanical energy is utilized to increase the gravitational force exerted on solids that are present in the mud system.oilfield Decanting Centrifuge are able to apply over 3,000 G-forces on the liquid/solids mixture, which separates the heavier solids from the lighter solids.
Other drilling fluids management equipments includes:centrifugal pump, drilling fluids degasser, etc.
