Perhaps the most important thing to know about Venezuela is that it is an oil exporting country, the fifth largest in the world, with the largest reserves of conventional oil (light and heavy crude) in the western hemisphere and the largest reserves of non-conventional oil (extra-heavy crude) in the world.

All of the foregoing sets the stage for showing just how extremely important the country’s conflict over oil is. At the most overt level, the conflict between the Chávez government and the oil industry is one about who controls PDVSA. Beyond that, the specific issues that control is being fought over have to do with the company’s efficiency, its internationalization program, its outsourcing and subcontracting practices, OPEC membership, and special oil contracts.

PDVSA has a production capacity, including the strategic associations and operating agreements, of 4 million barrels per day (600,000 m³). Officials say production is around 3.3 million barrels per day (520,000 m³/d) although most secondary sources such as OPEC and the EIA put Venezuela’s output at least 500,000 barrels per day (79,000 m³/d) lower.

GN solids control exported several sets of drilling mud system to Amazon region, including Ecuador. We can produce the complete drilling mud separation system, including shale shaker, vacuum degasser, desander, desilter, decanter centrifuge, vertical cutting dryer, mud tank, etc.

 Ecuador produces more oil than it needs for domestic consumption and thus it is one of the country’s leading exports. Therefore, any new drilling for oil is not intended to meet local demand but is intended for export overseas, most likely to Japan and the United States.

Drilling mud is used to control subsurface pressures, lubricate the drill bit, stabilize the well bore, and carry the cuttings to the surface, among other functions. Mud is pumped from the surface through the hollow drill string, exits through nozzles in the drill bit, and returns to the surface through the annular space between the drill string and the walls of the hole.

Drilling mud separation system

As the drill bit grinds rocks into drill cuttings, these cuttings become entrained in the mud flow and are carried to the surface. In order to return the mud to the recirculating mud system and to make the solids easier to handle, the solids must be separated from the mud. The first step in separating the cuttings from the mud involves circulating the mixture of mud and cuttings over shale shakers.

The liquid mud passes through the screens and is recirculated back to the mud tanks from which mud is withdrawn for pumping downhole.

What is Air Diaphram pump?

An Air Diaphram pump is a positive displacement pump that uses a combination of the reciprocating action of a rubber, thermoplastic or teflon diaphragm and suitable non-return check valves to pump a fluid. Sometimes this type of pump is also called a membrane pump.

Air Diaphram pump features:

• have good suction lift characteristics, some are low pressure pumps with low flow rates; others are capable of higher flows rates, dependent on the effective working diameter of the diaphragm and its stroke length. They can handle sludges and slurries with a relatively high amount of grit and solid content.

Now we have already Exclusive agent in Turkey, we produce mud tanks there and ship the solids control equipments from GN factory, and assembly them in Turkey. It will save considerable transportation cost of mud tank and fast the delivery time a lot. 1500m drilling rigs are used to explore middle deep oil and coal-bed methane. They have characteristics of simple structure and easy operation. There are four types of this rig: ZJ15,ZJ15DJ ,ZJ15DZ,ZJ15DB.

The1500m drilling rig has a parallelogram substructure and a telescoping mast. The mast is raised by cylinders and expanded or contracted with wireline, 1 500kW AC frequency converting motor is used to drive the drum shaft of the drawworks through the counter shaft and the roller chain. The drawworks has two gear shifts—high speed and low speed. The gear shifting is made by using the push-disc type clutch. The main brake is the hydraulic disc brake. The rotary table is connected to the drawworks with the chain and driven by the drawworks. The closed chain compound case uses the fully forced splash lubrication. The auxiliary brake is FDWS-15 air-cooling electromagnetic eddy current brake.

GN 2-WAY Flow Divider is designed to maximize the solids removal capabilities of shale shaker. It is mainly used for GNZS703 tandem shale shaker, GNZS852 triple shale shaker.

 Function of flow divider for LMSS

• Ensures even distribution of liquid and solids to downstream shakers
• Eliminates need for back tanks and shaker bypasses
• Minimizes the effect of pitch and heave

Solids removal efficiencies are dramatically increased by the Flow divider, which distributes fluids/solids equally to multiple downstream shale shakers. Positive sealing weir gates are removable, allowing flow per selected shaker or installed omitting flow. The Flow divider eliminates the need for back tanks and shaker bypasses and minimizes the effect of pitch and heave. The unit is available in four sizes: 2,3, 4, 5, and 6 way.

How do Derrick Flow divider Work?

Mud from the flow line enters the rear of the Flow divider (1) where it contacts a baffle (2) allowing the flow to pass under and sometimes over before it flows over the weirs (3), and divides the liquid and solids equally between the desired number of shaker feed ports (4). Positive-sealing weir gates permit flow to the downstream shakers .

This week GN shipped several sets of stainless steel mud agitators to Algeria. Normally our agitator material is carbon steel, but sometimes we can make customized equipments, such as customized shaft length, impeller diameter, impeller thickness, material, etc.

A mud agitator is used in surface mud systems to suspend solids and maintain homogeneous mixture throughout the system. A mechanical agitator is driven by an explosion-proof motor, coupled to a gear box that drives the impeller shaft. The impellers (turbines) transform mechanical power into fluid circulation or agitation. The objective is to obtain a uniform suspension of all solids.

Mud agitator can be divided into horizontal mounted agitator and vertical mounted agitator according to mounting method.

Types of Impeller Blades

• Flat blade impeller
• Canted blade impeller
• Contour blade impeller

Derrick mud agitator

All Derrick agitators feature a “C” face motor coupled to a rugged oilfield gearbox, which

eliminates misalignment and troublesome couplings. This configuration promotes longer motor and gearbox bearing life. Derrick uses a Helical-Bevel gear unit to turn the impeller.

This highly efficient gearbox offers a 95% power transfer, which is approximately 30% more than a worm drive gearbox. Helical-Bevel gearboxes are preferred over worm gear arrangements because of their power efficiency, reliability, and lower operating temperatures.

The first step for drilling waste management is to separate the solids cutting from the liquid drilling mud. Once solid and liquid drilling waste have been separated, companies can use a variety of technologies and practices to manage the wastes. For some applications, drilling wastes are solidified or stabilized prior to their ultimate management practice. Oilfield Swab tank

Also called test tank, each plumbed for separate discharge to vacuum truck or water tank. Complete with minimum 32 ” Poor-Boy Degasser with proper vent, fluid leg and inspection hatch. Usually we will provide a complete sets of measurement tools, including Mud Balance, Plastic Marsh Funnel Viscometer and Plastic Measuring Cup and Stopwatch.

Oilfield trip tank

A small mud tank with a capacity of 10 to 15 barrels, usually with 1-barrel or h-barrel divisions, used to ascertain the amount of mud necessary to keep the wellbore full with the exact amount of mud that is displaced by drill pipe. When the bit comes out of the hole, a volume of mud equal to that which the drill pipe occupied while in the hole must be pumped into the hole to replace the pipe. when the bit goes back in the hole, the drill pipe displaces a certain amount of mud, and a trip tank can be used again to keep track of this volume.
