Mini Mud Tanks for Different Function in Oil & Gas Drilling

GN Solids Control is not only professional solids control equipment supplier, but also supply different mud tanks for different functions. The size of mud tanks range from big mud tanks for oil drilling solids control system and mud plant to mini mud tanks, eg trip tank, sump tank, pill tank etc.

1) Pill tank and trip tank for solids control mud system

Pill tank is used for conditioning the drilling mud by add barite, bentonite or other heavy weight additive. The size is about 1000x1000x1500mm. The position is placed after decanter centrifuge, fixed on the mixing mud tank. After adding heavy weight additive, the drilling mud can be mixing fully by force from Jet mud mixer with a centrifugal pump.

Trip tank is used for feeding the well when change the drilling tubes. It is generally positioned besides the shaker tank.

Recently, GN Solids Control just offer one sets of 1500HP rig mud system to RG Petroleum. Pill tank and trip tank is included.

Oilfield Swab tank

Also called test tank, each plumbed for separate discharge to vacuum truck or water tank. Complete with minimum 32 ” Poor-Boy Degasser with proper vent, fluid leg and inspection hatch. Usually we will provide a complete sets of measurement tools, including Mud Balance, Plastic Marsh Funnel Viscometer and Plastic Measuring Cup and Stopwatch.

Oilfield trip tank

A small mud tank with a capacity of 10 to 15 barrels, usually with 1-barrel or h-barrel divisions, used to ascertain the amount of mud necessary to keep the wellbore full with the exact amount of mud that is displaced by drill pipe. When the bit comes out of the hole, a volume of mud equal to that which the drill pipe occupied while in the hole must be pumped into the hole to replace the pipe. when the bit goes back in the hole, the drill pipe displaces a certain amount of mud, and a trip tank can be used again to keep track of this volume.

Trip Tank & Mud Gas Separator Skid

1- 10’ x 40’ oilfield type skid with loading hitches for tail boarding and provisions for mounting of choke manifold.

2- 60 bbls trip tank 8’ long x 10’ wide x 8’ manifold high

one (1) 10 hp agitator

two (2) 3’’ x 2’’ centrifugal pump with mechanical seal for trip tank. pump to be powered by a 25 hp, 1800 rpm, 480 volt, 3- phase, 60 hz x pac motor.

3- mud gas separator to be 2.5’ x 20’. unit will separate mud and vent gas. unit will fold over the top of the choke manifold.
