Here share some new photos taken at CIPPE 2013( the largest petroleum show in Asia), which is held in Beijing at New China International Exhibition Center.

GN has 6 units of flare igniters in stock, they are widely used for oil & gas drilling operations, usually works together with GN own designed mud gas separator. The flare igniters are used for connecting to the gas discharge line of mud gas separator, and fire the dangerous gas from the drilling mud like H2S. GN manufacture the flare igniter according to API &ISO standard, which meet most of the oil industry applications.

The upper part of the flare igniter is stainless steel, and it is designed for rain proof , water proof in the oilfield. The major components for the electrics are from famous brand like Siemens or Schneider. The power of the electric can be directly from industry normal power, or users can charge the battery and take the unit for remote areas application. GN flare igniter is with remote control, and PLC is optional available for less manpower notice for continually and automatically working.

Closed loop drilling fluids system (sometimes referred to as closed mud or pitless system)are system which do not need mud pits, which can greatly reduce or eliminate the discharge of toxic drilling wastes on site.

1 HDD  mud system need mud pits, the drilling mud flow to mud pit, and the slurry pump installed into the mud pit transfer the mud to HDD mud cleaning system, and the processed mud is pumped to the rig again.

2 At a typical oil & gas drilling site, drilling fluids are circulated through the wellbore, then the fluids and drill cuttings are deposited in a reserve pit dug near well. This pit is used to hold used drilling fluids and wastes. There are many potential problems from pits — leaky liners and overflows can lead to soil and water contamination, pits can produce odors and toxic air contaminants, and pits can be a hazard for birds and wildlife.

Drilling engineering is a subset of petroleum engineering. Drilling engineers design and implement procedures to drill wells as safely and economically as possible.

Exploration and petroleum engineering are the oil and gas industry’s two main sections. Petroleum engineering is a field of engineering related to the production of crude oil or natural gas.

Drilling engineers are in charge of the process of planning and drilling the wells. Their responsibilities include:

  1. Designing well programs to prevent blowouts
  2. Designing casing strings and cementing plans, directional drilling plans, drilling fluids programs, and drill string and drill bit programs.
  3. Specifying equipment, material and ratings and grades to be used in the drilling process.
  4. Providing technical support and audit during the drilling process.
  5. Performing cost estimates and analysis.
  6. Developing contracts with vendors.

Solids Control is one of the most important phases of the drilling process. The primary reason for using mechanical solids control equipment is to remove detrimental drilled solids from the mud system. Mechanical separation of drilled solids is achieved via screen separation(shale shaker, mud cleaner, desander, desilter) or accelerated g-force(decanter centrifuge). Continue reading »
