Oil price is going down from end of 2014, many drilling rigs stop to drill, thus lead to the equipment suppliers go down of the sales amount, like rig companies, solids control companies, pipes, drill bits etc. However, the drilling waste management field is still strong. We have to support our company with drilling waste management equipment sales this year and also extended to other fields, like horizontal directional drilling, core drilling, mine drilling, diamond drilling etc.

Recently, we just finish one set skid mounted waste management total solution for on line drilling waste management, water based mud. The customer use the Hi-G dryer and centrifuge system to treat the drilling cuttings discharged from shale shakers and recover the useful water based mud and reduce the impact on the environment.

GN mud tank system working in Middle East

GN Solids Control mud tank system is widely used in many countries and areas. Some oil drilling contractor may buy one complete mud tank system with 3 to 7 mud tanks; some third party service company may buy one or tank mud tank system professional for intermediary use.

Recently of 2014, we sell one mud tank system with single mud tank & 2 mud agitators & 2 mud guns to Middle East, the customer is locally strong oil service group company with solids control service branch & drilling waste management service branch. They have CD518 High Speed centrifuge, 414 low speed centrifuge (used for barite recovery system), Shale shakers, Minimum shear mixing tanks, Oil separation equipment, Oil separation equipment etc.

Hi-G dryer shaker

Early of 2014, the customer buys 3 Hi-G dryer shakers from GN Solids Control. They use the Hi-G dryer shaker for water based mud drilling cuttings treatment. The Hi-G dryer shaker with four panel shaker screen which is replacement for Swaco Mongoose shaker. They customer can buy enough shaker screen from us in stock for their projects; or they can source it locally for urgent use.

Single mud tank system

After the Hi-G dryer shaker purchase order, the customer issue one more order for single mud tank system. The mud tank is shipped by bulk vessel with longer shipping time and higher freight cost. In spite of these disadvantages, impressed with GN Solids Control Hi-G dryer shaker quality, the customer insists on buying the mud tank system from us directly.  The mud tank system is including one mud tank with necessary accessories, 2 mud agitators with double impellers & 2 mud guns for tank cleaning.

Vertical-G dryer & Hi-G dryer for Drilling Cuttings Treatment

Vertical Cuttings Dryer is key equipment for drilling cuttings treatment. During drilling process, the customer may use water based mud for former stage operation, and oil base mud may be coming later for deep drilling operation. Some customer may buy two sets on line drilling cuttings treatment for water based mud and oil based mud separately. Some user want to reduce budget and only prepare one set on line drilling cuttings treatment for water based mud and oil based mud drilling cuttings.

Hi-G dryer shaker:  Hi-G dryer is popular used for water based mud drilling cuttings treatment. After Hi-G dryer, high speed centrifuge will be followed for further treating. After treated by centrifuge, solids parts can be used for construction; liquid part can be further treatment by flocculent unit.

Vertical-G dryer:  Vertical-G dryer is popular used for oil based mud drilling cuttings treatment. After treated by Vertical-G dryer, the solids control can be further treated by TDU; the liquid part can be transferred to shale shaker again. Hi-G Dryer Shaker vs Double Deck Shaker

On oil drilling rig site, Hi-G dryer shaker and double deck shaker is widely used for drilling cuttings treatment and recycling. They are both linear motion shale shaker. Some customer do not know the difference of Double deck shale shaker and High-G dryer shaker. Compared with traditional shale shaker, this model with a Higher G force, can get better vibration screen separation. This model with 4 panel Mongoose shaker screen, can get bigger treating capacity. And the shaker screen is interchangeable with Swaco Mongoose screen, you can get the shaker screen from local Swaco distributor easily.

As it is single deck, relative easy to change shaker screen compared with double deck shale shaker.

HDD means horizontal directional drilling or Directional boring, is a steerable trenchless method of installing underground pipes, conduits and cables in a shallow arc along a prescribed bore path by using a surface-launched drilling rig, with minimal impact on the surrounding area.

Drilling fluids have several important functions. They cool and lubricate the drill bit, stem and other down hole tools. The fluid also assists in sealing the sides of the bore, therefore stabilizing the borehole. Finally, drilling fluids are designed to carry the cuttings out of the hole.

The most widely used drilling fluids for HDD applications are bentonite, even if they are not so expensive compared with oilfield drilling fluids, but it is still a pollution for the environment, especially usually they dig a mud pit for HDD and pump the drilling fluids from the mud pit to shale shaker. After the directional boring, how to treat the used drilling mud become a problem.

GN new products hi-G dryer GNZS85-3 is designed to replace the old model hi-G dryer GNZS63-4. GN Hi-G dryer shaker is with long shaker deck big capacity which is used for waste management to treat the drilling cuttings from the primary solids control equipments, like shale shaker, desander, desilter to dry the solids for transportation, and make the fluids easier for future treatment. What is the features of GNZS853 compared with GNZS63-4?

1 Even it is 3 –panel hi-G dryer, its screen area is larger than 4-panel hi-G dryer. The larger the screen area is, the dryer the cutting is. Total deck screen length is 2550mm, the total deck screen length of GNZS63-4 is 2520mm. Total screen area of GNZS85-3 is 3.2m2, but the total screen area of GNZS63-4 is only 3.15m2. And GNZS85-3’s screen area and total deck length is larger than Derrick 4-panle shale shaker/mud cleaner.

So 4-panel shaker is not must be better than 3-panel shaker.

2 3-panel shaker screen can enlarge the effective screen area, the waste screen area is less compared with 4 screen panel. It can improve the performance of hi-G dryer.
