With the increase in the difficulty of oil drilling development, more and more oil-based mud will be used in drilling, but during the use of oil-based mud, oily drill cuttings will be generated, which will cause great harm to the environment. And most countries in the world have strict limitations on the discharge of oily drill cuttings. Depending on the region and country, the oil content requirements for drill cuttings after treatment are different, usually less than 5%, and many developed countries and regions require even lower OOC oil content. as a waste treatment solution, The GN Solids Control drill cuttings dryer usually reduces the oil content of drill cuttings to 3-5%.

The role of the oil-based drill cuttings dryer and centrifuge system is to reduce the volume of drilling waste, recover useful drilling fluid, reduce transportation costs and post-processing costs. Its main configuration is as follows:

1. GN Solids Control vertical cuttings dryer GNCD930G

The drill cuttings dryer uses the centrifugal force generated by mechanical rotation to separate solid-liquid mixtures. It can recover the liquid phase in the drill cuttings. The drill cuttings enter through the feed port and enter the space between the screen basket and the screw through the distributor plate. The drill cuttings dryer rotates at up to 900RPM with a separation factor of 420G. Under the centrifugal force, the liquid phase and small particles (centrifugal fluid) pass through the material layer, pass through the screen basket, and flow along the upper cover into the liquid collection trough at the upper part of the machine base, then is discharged out of the machine through the liquid discharge pipe located on both sides of the machine base; the solid part of the drill cuttings remains inside the screen basket. Because there is a speed difference between the rotor scraper and the screen basket, the rotor scraper scrapes the drill cuttings off the screen basket and pushes them to the bottom of the screen basket, thereby discharging the dehydrated drill cuttings into the receiving funnel below the machine or the bottom screw conveyor. This dehydrating process is carried out continuously and can be used for sustainable work. It can be applied for real-time treatment.

2. Decanter centrifuge GNLW363D-VFD

The decanter centrifuge GNLW363D-VFD can further treat the liquid phase separated by the drill cuttings dryer to reduce the density, so that the oil-based mud can be reused. 1. Double-deck shale shaker

4. Desander

The desander is mainly composed of 12 10-inch desander cyclones, which can separate solid particles larger than 20-40 µm.

5. Centrifuge

6. Centrifugal pump

The impeller of the centrifugal sand pump also uses this material, and high-quality mechanical seals are used to prevent leakage of the centrifugal pump.
