This week, GN Solids Control shipped two sets of oil-based cuttings processing equipment to Russia for the recovery of drilling fluids from oil-based cuttings. Considering the weather, the equipment is installed in the container, and this design will also make transportation easier.

For oil-based drilling cuttings, vertical cutting drying units are ideal for separating drilling fluids and cuttings. The drying unit receives the cuttings discharged from the solid-controlled vibrating screen and operates at 900 rpm to effectively reduce the oil on the cuttings to 5%. We use a high-hardness scraper to push the separated chips off the screen. The high quality scraper ensures stable performance of the drying unit and low maintenance costs.

The fine particles flow out of the cuttings dryer through the sieve holes and enter the buffer tank. The waste slurry processing centrifuge is used to further separate the effluent from the dryer. We recommend using an ultra-wearable screw pump to deliver the mud from the buffer tank to the centrifuge for fine particle separation. The centrifuge was run at 3200 rpm to produce a separation factor of 2062 g, under which 2 micron sized fine particles would be removed. After treatment by a sedimentation centrifuge, the drilling fluid can be reused.

Tank bottom sludge treatment equipment sold to Guangdong customers

Recently, GN Solids Control completed the production and commissioning of a 5m3/h oily sludge treatment system and prepared to send it to Guangdong for the oil sludge reduction treatment project.

This oil sludge treatment system consists of the following modules:

1) Heating premixed and tempered tank

The solid phase oil content after treatment by GN Solids Control sludge system can be controlled within 3%, the total water solid content in the recovered oil can be controlled within 3%, and the oil content in the recovered water is within 3%, which can greatly reduce the solid phase material. The oil content rate reduces the total amount of materials to be treated, and also provides the maximum reduction guarantee for the later biodegradation, thermal desorption and other processes, and improves the treatment efficiency of oily sludge.

GN Solids Control drilling mud recovery system will be shipped to an oilfield customer in China

With years of experience in the manufacture of oil drilling mud solids control systems, GN Solids Control is able to design and manufacture mud recovery systems in accordance with standard configurations or customer requirements. This week, a solid control system will complete the factory’s trial installation and testing, and then shipped to an oilfield customer in China.

The system is a stand-alone mud solids control system with solid separation and mud reconfiguration.

1. Separation equipment – The system is equipped with a GNZS703 shale shaker and two cyclone 10 inch desanders for solid particle separation. The coarse separation will be carried out on the shaker unit and the latter will be used for fine particle separation.

2. Pumping system – The pumping system consists of a submerged slurry pump, a sand pump and a mixing pump. Considering the replacement of the drilling tool, the mud system is equipped with a drill-down pump, so the mud tank is equipped with an in-tank compartment. To ensure adequate tank volume, we use a vertical mud pump to feed the desander. The mixing pump is used to circulate the polymer mud material to provide pressure to the mud gun.

3. Mud tank system – When designing the mud, we fully considered the division of the equipment and compartments installed on the mud tank to ensure the continuous workflow of the mud system. Pipes and valves are provided in the mud tank to facilitate mud flow. Aisles and handrails are provided to allow the operator to safely operate the tank.
