Solids control equipment exhibition we attend this year

Every year we have big budget for oil & gas drilling show which include solids control equipment exhibition. This year, we also attend many oil equipment exhibitions in different countries and areas.

1) Nigeria oil & gas exhibition in March.

Nigeria is leading country in oil drilling field in West Africa. We have lots of valuable customer there. The main customer business is to offer solids control service or drilling waste management service with centrifuge, vertical cuttings dryer & high G dryer. There are also some drilling companies with several land drilling rigs who service themselves with GN Solids Control equipment directly.

Nigeria oil & gas exhibition NOG, holding in capacity city Abuja, is attracting more and more visitors every year. GN Solids Control take waste management decanter centrifuge there.

GN Solution for Oily sludge Treatment

Oily sludge treatment is very important: environmental protection, oil recovery, water separation. We just finish one project for COSL, the China largest offshore drilling company. You can check details from here:  COSL oily waste treated by GN centrifuge with chemical enhancement.  Recently, we receive one project requirements from Africa and they need us to offer proposal for oily sludge treatment. Their goal is to separate the oil and water, to incinerate the solids. And we offer 2 solutions below:

Option A: solution for oily sludge treatment – High G dryer + oil water separator + TDU

Step 1: Use high G dryer to treat the oily sludge and separate into two groups: solids and liquid.

Step 2: use oil water separator to separate liquids into oil and water

Step 3: use Thermal desorption unit to incinerate the solids.

Comments: this solution with better performance, but it is very costly because of TDU.

Solidification and stabilization unit

Solidification and stabilization are separate treatment techniques with similar goals. Solidification of wastes involves the production of a solid mass having sufficiently high structural integrity to allow transport and/or disposal of the solid without requiring secondary containment, i.e. mixing of sludge with shredded paper, sawdust, etc.

This technique converts hydrologic sensitive liquid and semi-liquids waste in a physical form that can be stored safely and conveniently. Stabilization, however, involves the immobilization of constituents in wastes by chemical alteration to form insoluble compounds, or by entrapment within the solidified product. The Stabilization/Solidification systems provide an effective method for processing oil-base waste producing an environmentally safe, dry material that is acceptable for onsite burial, land farming or disposal at an approved waste facility. The most commonly used industrial systems are lime based, cement based, silicates based, clay based, pozolanic and thermoplastic.

Both Stabilization and solidification are classified as fixation processes applied to oil waste when the main purpose is to immobilize, isolate, or in some other way contain the contaminant from solids or semisolids waste.

In both cases the target is:

  • 1. Improve the handling and physical characteristics of the waste
  • 2. Reduce the surface area available for transferring or losing the contaminant and restricting the fluid mobilization through the total volume of hard matrix
  • 3. Reduce the contaminant’s solubility into the waste volume
