An arrangement of piping or valves designed to control, distribute and often monitor fluid flow. Manifolds are often configured for specific functions, such as a choke manifold used in well-control operations and a squeeze manifold used in squeeze-cementing work. In each case, the functional requirements of the operation have been addressed in the configuration of the manifold and the degree of control and instrumentation required.

Oil well choke manifold is high-pressure pipe leading from an outlet on the BOP stack to the backpressure choke and associated manifold. During well-control operations, the fluid under pressure in the wellbore flows out of the well through the choke line to the choke, reducing the fluid pressure to atmospheric pressure. In floating offshore operations, the choke and kill lines exit the subsea BOP stack and then run along the outside of the drilling riser to the surface.

A choke manifold is used to lower the pressure from the well head. It consists of a set of high pressure valves and at least two chokes. These chokes can be fixed or adjustable or a mix of both. The redundancy is needed so that if one choke has to be taken out of service, the flow can be directed through another one. these long choke and kill lines must be considered to control the well properly.

Kill manifold

Kill manifold is necessary equipment in well-control system to pump drilling fluid into well barrel or inject the water into wellhead. It consists of check valves, gate valves, pressure gauges and line pipe.

Shafts and Impellers

Manufactured of solid, mild steel bar, the shaft is coupled to the gear reduction assembly with a rigid coupling. All shafts are keyed at the bottom for adjusting the height of the impeller. Depending on the model, shaft diameters range from 1 3/4 to 3 1/2 inches. Shaft length is determined by tank depth and should be carefully reviewed before ordering. Consideration must be given to the difference in height of the agitator models, the gear reducer stub shaft length and the rigid coupling length.

Impellers range in size from 24″ to 52″ and can displace over 18,000 gpm. The canted blade impeller , used in tanks deeper than five feet, promotes axial as well as radial flow. Because the blades move the liquid downward to the bottom of the tank and then toward the tank walls and up, all fluid is mixed continuously and the same consistency is maintained in all parts of the tank. Field experience has confirmed that this design provides the most homogeneous mixture over the widest range of installations and helps to eliminate heavy slugs or light spots that could cause control problems when pumped down-hole.

When referring the desander, hydrocyclones are very urgent to come to the stage. ONGC said it discovered gas in a well drilled in East Godavari district in Andhra Pradesh. Oil and gas in a separate well in shallow waters off the Andhra coast.

Besides oil was discovered in Gujarat block, a company press statement.But ONGC did not give estimation of it.

To invest the discovered oil, the company board approved a capital expenditure of Rs 3241.03 in the first phase of development.

In the first phase, they plan to install four new fixed well platforms and drilling of 20 development wells from which the cumulative production of oil and gas for 16 years. And the production is expected to be 9.73 million tons and 4.52 billion cubic meters.

In their plan, the project is completed in 35 months later, and the first oil is expected in March,2010.
