Agitator mixer uses an impeller to mix and suspend the solids using both axial and radial flows, and by utilizing low shear mixers to suspend and mix mud additives particle size degradation and polymer shear. Unlike centrifugal pumps or mud guns. The Mud Agitator is relatively low shear and low energy device, so it’s easy to operate and inexpensive to maintain. This will ensure that mud additives are homogeneously mixed to prevent dead spots. The device protects the Compensating gear from torque overload, which is installed in the outside end of the Compensating gear. The torque of gear is limited with a spring clutch by which power can be imputed. While overload cuts off spring clutch with driving shaft, the face of spring move the gland down to outside for 6mm and the stroke faucet switch on to switch off the power of main motor and fluid supply pump.

1. Electric interlock device (only dual motor driving system)



In the dual motor driving system without inverter speed-adjustable device, the correct program for starting a centrifuge is:

1)        Firstly start the auxiliary motor.

2)        After thirty second, the main motor allows to be started.

The correct program for stopping a centrifuge is as follow:

1)        Firstly stop the main motor.

2)        After ten minutes, the electric interlock device will automatically switch the power of the auxiliary motor.

With the electric interlock device, the correct program can be automatically carried out and unexpected result from wrong operation can be avoided.

Also called test tank, each plumbed for separate discharge to vacuum truck or water tank. Complete with minimum 32 ” Poor-Boy Degasser with proper vent, fluid leg and inspection hatch. A small mud tank with a capacity of 10 to 15 barrels, usually with 1-barrel or h-barrel divisions, used to ascertain the amount of mud necessary to keep the wellbore full with the exact amount of mud that is displaced by drill pipe. When the bit comes out of the hole, a volume of mud equal to that which the drill pipe occupied while in the hole must be pumped into the hole to replace the pipe. when the bit goes back in the hole, the drill pipe displaces a certain amount of mud, and a trip tank can be used again to keep track of this volume.

Top tank mud gun is controlled by staff on the tank, the difference between GN mud gun and NOV mud gun is the nozzle numbers, we make to 3 nozzle numbers, which can jet more place in the tank so the agitating effect can be better.

What is the difference between tank top and tank bottom mud gun?1 tank top mud gun

 Tank top mud gun is usually with function of agitating, together with mud agitator, they are important equipments for drilling mud tank and mud mixing tank. And how many sets of agitator you have for the mud mixing tank, usually how many mud guns you have. But it also have exception, for example, when the tank room is very small, you have no room for the agitator, and the tank is not so large, you can use a mud gun instead, it is much cheaper, needs smaller area to install and convenient to operate, also do not need to use electric power, but use pressure to work, and you do not need to buy a lot of spare parts such as gear box, bearings for the mud agitator. Anyway mud gun has a lot of advantages but it can not replace mud agitator totally, the agitating effect is not so strong as agitator. We need to use them together to benefit from both of them.

2 Tank bottom mud gun

Tank bottom mud gun also called inner tank mud gun, its function usually not agitating, but transferring and mixing line. It transfers the mud from mud mixing tank to another tank.

Where is the pressure come from ?

For high pressure mud gun, the pressure came from mud pump, for lower pressure mud gun, the pressure came from mixing pump, it can mix and transfer drilling mud to another tank.

At present, GN can produce 2” and 3” mud gun, both of them with 3 nozzles, it can be made into manual rotary type or fixed type, it is optional. And we will choose high pressure mud gun or low pressure mud gun according to the actual situation of client’s.

For example, oilfield drilling mud solids control system usually use high pressure mud gun with high pressure gate valves. The HDD mud recycling system can use a low pressure mud gun which is much cheaper.

Mud Tank Feature

A mud tank is an open-top container, typically made of steel, to store drilling fluid on a drilling rig. They are also called mud pits, because they used to be nothing more than pits dug out of the earth. The mud tank is devided into Square tank and Cone-shaped tank according to the shape of tank bottom. The body of the tank is made of welding the steel plate and section, using the flat cone-shape structure or the corrugated structure.

Components of Mud Tank

The mud tank surface and the passage are made of the slipping resistant steel plate and linearity netted steel plate which is produced by the professional factory, the mud tanks are made of the side steel pipe, all of the structure can be folded without barrier and pegged reliably. The surface of tank is equipped with water pipeline for cleaning the surface and equipment on the mud tank, we use soaked zinc processing for the netted steel plate. The ladder is made of the channel steel to take responsibility the body, the foot board is made of the linearity netted steel plate. The two-sided guard rail are installed the safe suspension hook. The mud tank is designed the standard shanty to prevent the sand and the rain. The pipeline is installed in the tank to preserve the warm air heat.

The main fuction of mud tank is storege, because the worked drilling fluids must stored to the next seperation or to the next recyclation, or to be reused.
A tank is sectioned off into compartments. A compartment may include a settling tank, sometimes called a sand trap, to allow sand and other solids in the drilling fluid to precipitate before it flows into the next compartment. Other compartments may have agitators, which are large fan blades stirring the fluid to prevent its contents from precipitating.
