The device passes a gas-cut material throough a centrifugal force field to accomplish the degassing. The degasser contemplates the slurry flowing through the degasser by entering it through the top and flowing downward or entering from the bottom and flowing upward. In either case the slurry moves through the force field to accelerate gravity settling of the continuous phase of the flowable material and to accelerate buoyant force gas bubble rising time.

ZCQ Degassers provide effective degassing with high throughput by means of a unique centrifugal Vacuum design.

ZCQ Degassers are capable of handling high viscosity 20 pound mud with a 50% gas cut. They can draw up to 800 gpm and discharge as much as 400 gpm.

The ZCQ Degassing system is totally selfcontained on one skid. No auxiliary pump is required. Both suction and discharge are powered by a built-in Electric motor.

How the centrifugal degasser works

The mud is drawn into the Degasser by a vacuum pump at a constant vacuum level and spins in the Centrifugal Degassing Tubes at forces up to 25 g’s. Mud flowing through the Degassing Tube inlets disperses in thin layers around the tube walls to maximize exposure of the mud surface to vacuum. As the thinstreamed mud spins through the tubes, the lighter entrained gas bubbles “rise” to the surface of the mud where they burst. The heavier is sprayed with considerable impact, into a turbulence hood, breaking out remaining gasses.

Gas is discharged through a blower to atmosphere or to a flare line. Degassed mud is returned to the Mud system through a specially designed centrifugal discharge pump.

ZCQ series Vacuum Degasser Technical Parameters

Model

ZCQ240

ZCQ270

ZCQ300

ZCQ360

Main diameter

700mm

800mm

900mm

1000mm

Capacity

≤240m3/h

≤270m3/h

≤300m3/h

≤360m3/h

Vacuum

0.030~0.045Mpa

0.030~0.050Mpa

0.030~0.055Mpa

0.040~0.065Mpa

Ratio

1.68

1.68

1.68

1.72

Efficiency

≥95%

≥95%

≥95%

≥95%

Motor power

15KW

22KW

30KW

37KW

Vacuum Power

2.2KW

3KW

4KW

7.5KW

Rotary speed

860r/min

870r/min

876r/min

880r/min

Dimension

1750×860×1500mm

2000×1000×1670mm

2250×1330×1650mm

2400×1500×1850mm

Weight

1100kg

1350kg

1650kg

1800kg

There are two kinds of degasser in oil gas drilling solids control equipments, one is vacuum degasser i.e. centrifugal degasser, the other is mud gas separation i.e. poor boy degasser.
