A diamond drilling system is quite complex, but it can be simplified by focusing on three parts. First, there is the rotary drill. This is the bulk of the machine, which provides the power. Second, there is the drill rod, which is a barrel that will contain a core when drilling is complete. Third, there is the diamond bit, which is a circular tool that has an open middle area and clears entry into the ground.

To understand how cores are extracted, the three parts identified earlier must be considered. The drill extends into a drill rod, which has a diamond drill bit on the end. The drill uses rotary action to provide power to force the drill bit into the ground.

The rig consists of base, power unit, hydraulic system, control panel, mast, main winch, wireline winch, drill head, feed system, footclamp etc. The rig is completely hydraulic driven.

Decanter centrifuge are used to process unweighted and weighted, water-based and oil-based drilling fluids (muds). Mechanical energy is utilized to increase the gravitational force exerted on solids that are present in the mud system.

How do the two degasser works and the difference

This two pictures is the different work principle of the two digassers.

The left side is the vacuum degasser, and the right side is the mud gas separator(poor boy degasser).

The vacuum degasser suck the drilling mud and separated mud and gas by vacuum pump.

Our vacuum degasser operates on a “thin strata” principle. The drill mud enters the tank and forces it to flow and distributed to a layer of internal baffle plates engineered to allow the liquid inside the vacuum degasser to flow as thin film and is exposed to the vacuum within the vessel. This layer of mud allows the gas to escape or break out of the mud . The vacuum pump releases the gas and discharge it to the disposal line. Mud exits the vessel under the action of the venturi and is returned to the mud system.

The GN MUD/GAS SEPARATOR (poor boy degasser) consists of a cylindrical pressure vessel in a fixed vertical position. Inside is a series of specially angled baffle plates, stepped from the top to the bottom. When contaminated mud is routed into the separator, it flows downward successively over each plate. During this process, the heads of entrained gases “break out.” The released gas is then carried by the vent lines to a remote location where it can be safely flared.
The flow of liquid from the vessel can be regulated by a liquid-level-control valve or a U-tube, ensuring adequate retention time in the separator for the gas to break out.

The mud gas separator is used before shale shaker, while the vacuum degasser is used after the shale shaker, so they have different function. The poor boy degasser usually used to separate the most dangerous gas, and the vacuum degasser is used only when we need more effective and more efficient results.

TBC mesh for a better cut. TBC mesh is designed specifically for applications requiring a well-defined separation efficiency or cut.

HC. HC (highcapacity) mesh is another layered rectangular mesh that M-I SWACO manufactures, although it is not patented. The diameter of the wire used to make HC mesh is smaller than the wire used to make XR MESH, and the mesh is not calendared. Compared to XR MESH, HC mesh has more open area and therefore more capacity, but it has a shorter screen life and lower separation efficiency.

team that engineered the Mission Magnum. The Magnum was designed to have the same footprint, flange locations, and drive shaft diameter as the 1780 “W”. This allowed a 1780 to be replaced by a Magnum without any skid modifications. The Magnums were engineered with a 2 1/2″ shaft (3″ between the bearings), double row bearings with an engineered life of over 2 years at 200 HP, larger impellers and heavier frames. The Magnum allowed drilling contractors to upgrade their centrifugal pumps and mix heavier fluids.
