Mud gas separators in other countries also called Poor boy degasser,Liquid-gas separators, Mud/Gas Separators, etc.GN Solids Control  designs and manufactures ZYQ Mud gas Separators. Mud gas Separators is an extremely reliable, vital piece of safety equipment for today’s drilling operations. It is ideal for use where drilling is likely to encounter large volumes of gas, sour gas or when an operator is drilling with an under balanced mud column.

GN Solids Control also manufacture the solar charged electric flare ignition device to matching the mud gas separator to burn the gas.

Drilling fluid is used to aid the drilling of boreholes into the earth. Often used while drilling oil and natural gas wells and on exploration drilling rigs, drilling fluids are also used for much simpler boreholes, such as water wells. Liquid drilling fluid is often called drilling mud.

In drilling operations, solid weighting materials are commonly added to the drilling fluid to give sufficient density to the fluid to hinder inflow of oil or gas into the wellbore from the down-hole formation. Weighting material sag. i.e. sedimentation of weighting material from the drilling fluid, has been and is currently one of the biggest challenges within the drilling fluids industry as it can lead to well control problems, lost circulation, hindered running of casing/liner, insufficient displacement etc.

weighting material adding equipment

weighting material adding equipment

CALCIUM CARBONATE is Acid souble weight material. It is used to prevent fluid invasion of permeable zones, and to prevent loss of circulation during drilling, workover, and completion activities. CALCIUM CARBONATE is applicable in all drilling fluids, aqueous and non-aqueous. It can be used to prepare a pill for spotting purposes. is also used as an acid soluble weighting material for drill-in or workover fluids with a density of 14.0 ppg or less.

HEMATITE is for extremely high density mud.It is used to obtain mud weights in excess of 20.0 ppg in water based drilling fluids, 19.0 ppg in oil based drilling fluids, or any time that exceptional control is required of solids percentage for rheology control.

Barite is the most used weighting material, has a density of 4.1. It is used for increasing the density of fresh water, salt water, and oil based muds.

Barite is added through a hopper, GN designed Jet mud mixer is used for barite adding, it consist of venturi hopper and mixing pump. It can be used with the complete mud system, also it can be used separately.

Jet shearing unit is consist of venturi hopper and shearing pump, which can cut the big section into small pieces and add weighting material then mix them. It is commonly used in oil & gas drilling solids control system, usually it is installed on the weighting tank or mixing tank. Sometimes it is used together with decanter centrifuge.

Natural gas drilling rigs can be used not only to identify geologic reservoirs but also to create holes that allow the extraction of natural gas from those reservoirs. Primarily in onshore gas fields once a well has been drilled, the drilling rig will be moved off of the well and a service rig (a smaller rig) that is purpose-built for completions will be moved on to the well to get the well on line. This frees up the drilling rig to drill another hole and streamlines the operation as well as allowing for specialization of certain services, i.e., completions vs. drilling.

natural gas drilling mud system

natural gas drilling mud system

Natural gas is a naturally occurring gas mixture consisting primarily of methane, typically with 0–20% higher hydrocarbons. It is found associated with other hydrocarbon fuel, in coal beds, as methane clathrates, and is an important fuel source and a major feedstock for fertilizers.

Hydraulic fracturing, or fracking, uses huge volumes of water, chemicals and sand injected into rock at high pressure to release natural gas. Its development has unleashed a natural gas boom in the US and around the world. US has developed such method to drill for natural gas.

GN solids control provide mud cleaning system for directional drilling and fracking for natural gas, we are thinking to design such mud system for US market. All the electric motors and control panels will use IECex certified or US motors.

To design a system, we need to clarify the following questions:

1 What kind of drilling you are doing?

2 What is your required active capacity of the mud pits

3 What equipments you used before? If you have no experience, we will provide our standard design.

Oil and Gas Drilling, Summarize in 2009 All Around the World

1.American Drilling Drops

American drilling drops, due to weak demand and lower prices. The price of oil and gas has fallen to two thirds of their summer 2008 levels. It’s unprofitable for many oil and gas producers. So many of them, cut back on oil and gas production also the investments.

2.Russian Drilling Increases

Oil prices in the second quarter amounted to over $ 60 a barrel. In response to growing international drilling company, Halliburton (HAL), Weatherford International (WFT) and Schlumberger NV(SLB). In particular, the company Halliburton (HAL) reported 27% growth in sales in Russia and a double-digit growth in Mexico, Norway and China.

3.Complex Africa

It helps that the area is geologically complex; with many quarries and offshore oil probably deep underground. Or that many countries have seen deposit wars and unrest. Somalia remains a non-go zone, Ethiopia and the Ogaden region in the east is a violent uprising against insurgents fighting. And during the civil war in Mozambique ended in 1992, it took time for them to fully recover.

Saliva Explorers mainly on prospects for peace in Somalia. Stocks in oil block licenses for two small oil companies, Africa and Oil Range Resources will hold 10 billion barrels. Nobody talks about oil production in Somalia in the near future, but analysts believe that oil companies may be less intimidated by the political risks that would be in the past.

They point to the oil production in southern Sudan, where the risk of a 20-year civil war ended in 2005, to be rekindled.  In any case, there is a feeling that is to discover,  said Aly Khan Satchu, a financial adviser who manages Rich management in Nairobi. The reality and the perception of risk can be reduced.

China North Petroleum

China North East Petroleum has acquired all of the equity interest in Song Yuan Tiancheng Drilling Engineering Co. Ltd. (“Tiancheng”), an oil drilling and services company based in Song Yuan City, China. This acquisition marks NEP’s expansion into the oilfield services industry and enhances the Company’s vertical integration within China’s private oil exploration and production (E&P) industry.

NEP paid US $13.0 million in cash for 100% of the equity interest in Tiancheng. Due to PRC legal restrictions, 5% of the equity interest has to be held in trust for the benefit of NEP.

Tiancheng is a leading oil drilling and services company with seven rigs in operation. With approximately 320 employees, it has the capacity to drill 220 wells on an annual basis. Tiancheng is the largest of three PetroChina-licensed private drilling operators based on the total number of drilling rigs.
